I have received many compliments on this fridge, but the noise from the dropping of ice would wake us up, as well as wake sleeping babies napping. Sadly, you can't turn it off. Other than that, I guess I was lucky it ran well for the 2 years we owned it. We sold our home with the fridge in the deal, so it's their issue, now. Based on my experience, I can't recommend it for the reason above.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

will the ice maker automatically shut off when the tub is full?
Mine didn't. It filled up the bin, then went into the door, then spilled out of the in-the-door ice area all night until we found it the next morning-melted. It happened twice. The first time we thought the fridge broke down. After talking to friends who had that problem, we realized it was just a back-up of ice.

How useful is the Flexzone feature
Debating between this and the less sexy three door version. How useful is the Flexzone feature? I'm not sure whether it's worth the extra $.
Oh, we LOVE this feature. My husband kept his beer in this area so he can kick up the temp, producing the coldest beer. Also great for those 1/2 sheet cakes, kids snacks, etc. Note to parents. The drawer is a little stiff to open so not just any kid can open it. Also good for party trays during the holidays and any beverages.

How is the noise levels on the fridge?
Noise level is moderate for the general running of this fridge, however when the ice drops into the bucket it sounds like bombs are dropping out of the sky. It is so loud, guests comment, "What was THAT?" Not good!

Does water from the dispenser come out cold or room temperature?
Is there an option to make it cold?
Water from the dispenser comes out ice cold, and if you keep the filter changed out regularly its clean tasting, as well.
