What's great about it: For the price, it doesnt get better than this
What's not so great: Can't install programs
I'm a broke college student but I NEEDED a laptop of some sort. After lots of research, this seemed like the best option for the price I was paying. Was very apprehensive about it since I've heard the cheaper laptops aren't great and also since it's a chromebook so it's something completely new. I'm EXTREMELY happy with this acer, I've had no problems. Some people find it inconvenient that you can't download programs such as skype, but there's always a way around it by downloading an app in the chrome store. If you're on an extremely tight budget, I highly suggest buying this. Don't listen to people telling you otherwise, the best buy employee was trying to talk my brother out of it when he went to buy it for me which I think is rude, but whatever.
This product is... Good sound quality, A touch pad that works great, A nice compact size, easy to set up, lightning fast

Is the Acer spreadsheet & word document capable?

Well you can't install the program but you can download the Word Online app which is the same exact thing just app version. Also a great alternative is using Google docs, it's way more convenient in my opinion.

can I skype on this computer and what is the return policy as this will be a gift?

No you can not skype or install programs to the chromebook, everything is via apps that you download in the chrome store. A great alternative is the video chat option in Hangouts or oovoo.

Howdo you connect your IPot to your chrome laptop?

You can connect your iPod with the USB cable, but the chromebook does not support iTunes.

can it support office 365

No, you can't install programs. But through the app store you can download Word Online, Excel Online, etc which are the app versions of those programs. Also, Google docs is a great replacement to such programs and is more convenient in my opinion.

What about Open Office

Can I download and install such a "parallel" and free program comparable and compatible with MS Office?
Yes, there are apps such as Word Online, Excel Online, etc. It's the same exact program but the app version. Also, I use Google Docs instead of those anyways, way more convenient.
