My primary use of a bluetooth speaker is to put it on my motorcycle so that I can listen to my favorite tunes while riding. Simply put, it has three requirements. 1. Its loud enough to be heard through all the wind noise, engine noise, road noise, and a helmet. 2. It has enough bass response that I'm not only hearing the high frequencies. 3. It has to be small enough form factor to fit into a tank bag or be mounted to the bike.
I have tried many different brands of bluetooth speakers, and the Beats Pill XL is the ONLY bluetooth speaker that meets all of my necessary requirements.
As for sound quality. Even at the earpiercing volume levels that the speaker is capable of, there is no distortion. The high's are bright, and the lows are earth shaking. Mid's tend to get washed out a bit on 80's rock tracks, but sound fantastic on blues and jazz. Where it really shines is in the genre it was designed for, Hip/Hop and Pop, where its deep bass and overly bright treble make the music vivid and fun. And you haven't truely enjoyed it until you watch a action movie on a tablet with the pill XL thundering the soundtrack.
The battery life is astronomical at over 15 hours on a single charge. So no worries about taking a long trip. And it even has the option of recharging your cellphone from it's internal battery.
One thing that is overlooked on the pill is the round shape, which in my opinion is one of it's strongest features. There are no sharp corners or snaggy features that will poke you while carrying, or wear holes in your backpack. That's a huge improvement over all the other bluetooth speakers.
The front "b" logo button is the only feature that I'm unsure about. I like the fact that I can easily pause, or skip forward tracks, or answer phone calls by tapping the button...however, its a bit too easy to tap inadvertently.
If you are looking for big sound out of a small package that can project over noisy environments or thump like a larger system, its worth every cent.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: The software package
What's not so great: Camera
The Tab 4 7.0 costs more than comparable tablets... which is true if you are just looking at hardware. However, where the Tab 4 7.0 shines, is in the tweaked software, and that's what you are really paying the extra dollars for. First off is Samsung's TouchWiz, which is a pretty finely tuned overlay for Android KitKat, and it's butter smooth. Second, the ability to run dual apps at the same time, even being able to move data between the two apps drag&drop style, all selectable from a simple side swipe. Third, Samsung gives you some really good deals with the tablet including $10 Google play, Office software so you can spreadsheet/doc yourself crazy, as well as a bunch of other sweet extras that you would normally have to shell out some serious Google play bucks for.
Some reviews are saying that the Tab 4 7.0 is slow, and that is completely incorrect. This tablet is blazing fast. It's got Quad Core, and 1.5GB of RAM running KitKat...seriously. Samsung puts the tablet into "power saver" mode from the factory...which chops the processing power, display, etc. to save on battery life. If you take it out of power saver mode, it uses all of the quad core processor, and it quite simply comes alive. Battery life even at 60-70% brightness and heavy usage, no power saver, will still easily run ALL day and into the night with no problems. With power saver, you add another day+, just sacrificing speed to do so.
To disable power saver, swipe down on the top of the screen, and tap the icon that says "power saver". Kill that thing, trust me.
It's got GPS, which is a huge plus in my book. Turn-by-turn, without needing wifi/mifi. Not to mention the location services are drastically more accurate.
There are also some reviewers saying that Netflix won't run....YES IT WILL. Netflix runs great, and looks great.
My only negative, is the lack of decent macro focus ability in the camera, it bombs on closeup stuff. So if you are one of those folks that enjoys scanning all the barcodes when you shop, you might have some issues there.
All in all, if you are a professional, or just someone consuming vast amounts of internet, and wanting something in the 7" size that will run all day, and keep up. It's absolutely perfect.
If you are a hardcore gamer, you might want something a little hotter in the graphics dept, since we know you like those optic nerve sizzling displays.
For children....no problems, go for it. (it has lots of options for locking it up for their safety)
This product is... lightning fast, Perfect for Business, A nice compact size, Comfortable to hold

HDMI

Is there a HDMI output connection
No, there is no HDMI output. The only ports on the Tab 4 7.0 are:

Headphone jack
Infrared emitter (for remote control)
microB USB port

It does come with WatchON installed, so you can do some wireless display depending on TV and cable/satellite provider.

Does this have an Intel processor like the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1?

The Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 has a great Intel processor. What processor is in the Galaxy Tab 4?
Its a Arm-Cortex A7 1.2Ghz Quad Core processor, which is better than the Intel, in my opinion, as it is more efficient. Which equals better battery life.

Does this have HOST mini USB port? Or is it only for charging?

I want to connect a usb keyboard to it, with a mini usb connection.
It has a microB USB port for transferring data, charging, etc. However, I would recommend you run bluetooth for the keyboard...no cables=much better.
