What's great about it: Light and thin, has cool features not all phones have
What's not so great: Can't get Android 4.4, cameras could be better
This phone could be better, but it is good for what you are paying for it. First of all, I sound record a lot, and the sound recording on this phone is much better than my professional camera. Also, the multitasking and able to write on screenshots are pretty cool. Also very durable, I have a cheap $5 case on it from Amazon and have dropped it on concrete many times. All I have is a minor scratch on the side of the screen. However, the camera could be much better. Also, I wish you could get Android 4.4 on it without rooting, especially since the next-generation of it, the Lucid 3, does. Though, for the price, it is pretty good. An iPhone or Note 3 is better, but for what you're paying, the phone isn't half-bad.

What's great about it: Syncs everything if you use a different device
What's not so great: , Slow, screen stinks, plastic falls off
First of all, the speed is horrendous. The processor is the same one you would find in Samsung Galaxy devices, and only has 2GB of RAM. It is so slow. Takes 10 minutes to load Google. You also can't download anything, even Google Earth, something that you SHOULD be able to download, especially on a Google product. Also, the hardware is cheap. I have pink vertical lines all over it due to a bad screen. Even downloading Crouton is horrendous. Next, I accidentally press the Search button, then go back to type, and it won't let me. I have to restart the computer in order to type again. Also, I type a Google Doc, then Chrome crashes and I lose half of my changes. Touchpad is also laggy and hard to use. Long story short, do not buy. Awesome at first, loved it, now doesn't even download apps from the Web Store. It says its installed in the CWS but it's not in my app list. DO NOT BUY.

Can you purchase a replaceable screen if yours is cracked?

I have a screen issue also, and actually got it checked today. It's not worth it, really. I'd buy a new unit. It's not really that easy to fix.

Can I transfer photos from my SD cards to an external hard drive?

I would like to know if I can use this devise to transfer photos from my 32 GB SD card to my 1 TB external hard drive?
I don't think you can use an external HDD with this device.

I know it is with HTML5 and Flash. I'm not sure about Java though.

Is there something like Microsoft Excel or PowerPoint?

or can I at least make a power point or a spread sheet?
You can use Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. MS did come out with Web versions of Office you can use with an MS account. You can open Word, Excel, etc. documents, and even save GDrive files as Powerpoint, etc.

Does Ethernet Adapter Need a Modem?

I've been researching ethernet adapters for Chrome. I don't quite understand how they work. I know you plug it in to a USB port. But the port on the other end ; is that where you insert the ethernet cable from your DSL modem? If so, when you take to, say a cafe where they have an internet connection, how does that work? I'm missing something.
Yes, and when you go to a cafe, they have wireless internet that your Chromebook can connect to. Also, if your Chromebook has an Ethernet port, get an Ethernet to Ethernet port rather than USB.

Where can I find what series my chromebook is?

I am trying to buy a protective cover for my chromebook, but I don't know what series it is.
If you charge it on the side, it's Series 5. Charge it on the back, it's Series 3. That's the easiest way I can tell you the difference.

You have to get the 3G version of this Chromebook to do that.
