We wired the inside and outside of our house with Sonos components. Well, "wired" isn't true for the inside units, of course. That's the whole point with Sonos, and it works seamlessly. We have the Play 5 in the Living Room and two Play 1's in other spots of the house. I can unplug any of them and move into another room or move to my garage when I'm working out there and it picks right up where it left off. I also have a Sonos Connect Amp controlling the speakers out by the pool. These product great sound and the best part is I didn't have to tear up my walls.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What is the range/distance of the system?

How far away from the computer will the streaming wireless speakers work?
They will work any distance from your computer within your house as long as the speakers and your computer (or better yet, your phone or tablet) are connected to the same WIFI. I have even come home, but accessed my system from the car to turn on the speakers from the driveway without entering the house. This isn't especially practical, but its fun to mess with someone who is already home and doesn't know anyone else is there yet.
