What's great about it: Easy to operate/set up, Portability, Powerful Jets, Water Saver
I have used the Danby Countertop Dishwasher for a full month. I hooked it up myself, no teflon tape required on the unit but I used a little for the faucet adapter. Be extra careful not to get the hose connections cross threaded on the unit and don't over tighten. No leaks anywhere. The hose is about 5' long but 20" stays behind the unit when hooked up.
It wouldn't fit under my upper cabinets, it's bigger than I thought, I put it on a rolling cart that works great.
My dinner plates are 10 1/4" and fit just fine, my big chili pot and 10" deep dish pie plate also fit . It does a great job on saucepans/glass lids. Everything comes out grease free, clean/spotless even cheesy nacho dishes and the chili pot. Large skillets will fit but take up a lot of room so I wash them by hand.
There is an internal heating element to help dry the dishes, they're steamy hot when I open it. Leaving the door cracked a bit helps dry them completely. A rinse agent is recommended, I use cascade complete and it does the job.
Making sure the unit is level and cleaning the filters regularly is important. It's easy to operate with the quick connection adapter, I just leave the adapter attached to the faucet.
It's big enough to handle all the dishes for the two of us. There's 6 wash cycles I use the normal setting. The jets are powerful enough to overturn plastic containers if they're not secured.
I love this dishwasher, wished I would've known about it a lot sooner. The water saving feature was a huge factor for us, I was using far more water hand washing. There is nothing bad I can say about this unit. I use it once in the evening and a days worth of dishes fit just fine.
If my dinner plates were too big It would've been so worth it to buy smaller ones. I highly recommend this dishwasher.
This product is... Convenient for time-delay, Good for delicate dishes, Great for pots & pans, Acceptable level of noise, Designed to save time and water, Well-matched to my appliances, Easy to load adjustable racks, Useful settings or cycles, Able to deliver spotless dishes, Great at drying dishes, easy to install/operate
About me... Looking for energy savings, Budget Conscious, everyday user, small family
I would recommend this to a friend!

how long is the hose?

It's about 5 feet total but 20" or so stays behind the unit. The hose connections are on the right backside of the dishwasher. If you place the dishwasher to the left of your sink you would gain most of that 20". I put mine on a rolling cart. I can get it as close as needed without blocking the sink and store it off to the side when not in use.
