I have almost 200 downloaded games from XBL, and this hard drive holds them all with room to spare. It's the best way to maximize the use of my Xbox 360, as it's the largest official drive available now; I'd heard too many horror stores about third-party drives to risk anything else.
I would recommend this to a friend!

can you use the flash drive without an xbox hard drive attached?

Hard drive is damaged and can not be used. Can flash drive take the place of the hard drive?
A flash drive will cover you to some extent, but certain games, like Destiny, will only work when installed on an actual hard drive. Also bear in mind that, due to the way the Xbox accesses the hard drive, your flash drive may have a shorter-than-normal life as a replacement for a hard drive. Because of this, I would recommend the flash drive as a short-term solution only.

Switching between Xbox's.

I currently have the 250gb Xbox Slim but i wanna upgrade to the MW3 console when its released. I plan on selling my Slim before the MW3 is released, so if i get this flash drive can i store all my info from my Slim and when the MW3 console is released can i plug the flash drive in the new Xbox and have all my info stored on the new Xbox console? Also if i can would i have to keep this plugged in or once everything is transfered from the flash drive to the new xbox that would be it
As long as you transfer the license over, you should have little to no trouble copying files from the old system to the new. You can access the transfer option in Settings, Account, Billing Options, then select License Transfer. There are some limitations to what you can copy to a flash drive, but all the irreplaceable stuff, i.e. your saved games, are definitely able to be copied. Most games will copy over too, but certain system files, like media updates and xbox system updates, won't carry over. That having been said, anything along those lines can be re-downloaded. Just go to Settings, Account, then Download History, and pull down whatever games you previously purchased that you couldn't move over on the flash drive. Voila.
