What's great about it: Easy to set up, Stylish, Innovative
What's not so great: Too small
Being an early adopter of Tech, I was really excited to pick up the Gear and try it out. After purchase, I got home and paired the device to my Galaxy Note 3. The setup was very simple, that anyone with a minimal bit of tech knowledge could do it.
I have really big hands and of course the wrists to match. With that in mind, I put the clasp on the largest setting. I barely got the unit to get past my hand.
Then the fun part. I tried to clasp it shut. It was like applying a tourniquet to my wrist.
Needless to say, I had to return the unit. Too bad because I really was looking forward to showing it off to my friends.
Hopefully, Samsung will consider designing the Gear 2 with a larger wrist strap.
I would recommend this for smaller framed people.
Would've been a fun toy, if I were able to wear it.

can you use this watch without a phone?
You could wear it as a watch, after pairing it to your phone. However, you will not have any functionality aside from the clock, if you don't have your phone.
The Gear is designed as a tool to run in conjunction with your Galaxy. Not a replacement for your phone.
