The problem here isn't the quality of the sound but the size of it. Quality was nice enough, pretty crisp and clear (they are Sony) but 12mm drivers means the sound is very thin with very little bass and you have to crank the volume way up. If you're in a quiet room, you can back it off a bit and the sound quality is pleasant and accurate but, still, thin with no bass - it's kind of like a bee buzzing around in your head.
I have an older set of nice Sony head-band earbuds that perform the same so I should have known better but I thought the "Extra Bass" might offer some improvement. Sadly, that was not the case.
I exchanged these for a 'sport' model from a different brand that has 15mm drivers and the difference is like night and day. I wish I could name them in the review here.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I listen primarily to classical music so I'm very picky about sound quality. I treated myself to $50 earbuds from a major brand but the sound was so horrible I immediately returned them and gambled on this brand I'd never heard of. The difference was like night and day!
The sound on these rivals over-the-ear headphones, I kid you not. The sound is very full and rich, with clear treble and mid-range and smooth bass and there's plenty of volume, too. This is probably down to the larger 15mm drivers employed in these.
I've tested a variety of music - solo piano, chamber music in varying combinations, orchestra, opera - and everything sounds great. I'm truly amazed by just how good these sound and couldn't be more pleased with my purchase.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Figured I was taking a gamble, considering the cheap price but am very impressed with these headphones. I listen primarily to classical and couldn't be happier with the sound quality - very full sound with clear highs and smooth, rich bass.
Cord is good length for portable use but may be a tad short for desktop PC, fortunately, I have a 20"extension that came with some Sony headphones that adds just enough for my needs.
Headphones are very light so very comfortable for prolonged use. Band is on the narrow side, though, would be better if a little wider in middle (top of head), I have somewhat larger Sony headphones that have better sound but they're too tight, especially with glasses on, so I appreciate these. The somewhat looser fit is fine for stationary use but might be problematic for vigorous activity.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Attractive styling, nice 4.5" IPS screen, very responsive, lots of nice features - double tap to wake is awesome. Haven't used the camera myself but others say it does ok.
A little skimpy on the internal memory, only 4Gb, of which you have about 1.25 #after the VM update# to use. That's ok except when you update all the Google apps, that drops dramatically, to around 750Mb. So, don't update them, at least the ones you won't use. Takes 32Gb MicroSD though people have said 64 works, too, so plenty of room for music and pictures.
Button arrangement is a little awkward; holding in your left hand the volume rocker is right under your thumb while the power button is right under your index finger. Putting it in a case will help against accidental presses.
Overall, I'm very pleased with this phone.

I bought this to replace an ancient CMT-EX5 that I've had, like, forever. While the EX5 is still working fine, I wanted something with a bit more power. My PC is my only source of entertainment and I run the audio to the stereo, with the speakers on my desk flanking the monitor and amp unit. As this is 'near-field' listening, a lot of volume isn't required and, while the EX5 was fine for music, I had to crank it up for streaming movies and DVDs/BRs. The extra 20W of the SBT100 #50W vs 30W# gives me equal volume at slightly lower volume settings.
As for the SBT100, it's very handsomely styled in a nice, understated way. The sound is very crisp and clear with a rich, full presence, helped, no doubt, by the reflex ports on the speakers and which the EX5 lacked. While it lacks the EX5's Surround and DSG modes, it retains bass and treble controls, an absolute must for me.
Additionally, this unit has features that I'm unlikely to ever use, like the NFC and Bluetooth streaming; any music on my BT device #phone# is on my PC. Same for playing files off a USB stick. The USB might see use for charging things, though.
The speaker wires are reasonably long and, while they still plug into the amp with plastic connectors, the ends going to the speakers are standard bare wire going to spring clips on the speakers, so easy to extend the length if you need to. Far superior to the EX5 in that regard. Headphone jack is on the front, too - was on the back on the EX!.
Has a power-saver feature to put unit on stand-by after 15 mins of inactivity #can be turned off# plus standard sleep timer function.
The EX5 has a very nice, flat remote that uses watch batteries - I don't remember ever having changed them in 12 years. The SBT has a fat, if still fairly compact, 1/2 cylinder shape that uses AAs. - manual estimates 6 months replacement.
One thing to be aware of - there's a fairly bright white LED on the center of the amp, just behind the bottom edge of the silver faceplate. It flashes when you use on the remote. There's a button on the remote marked with a light bulb that turns it on and off should you find it annoying.
Overall, I'm quite pleased with this item. Whatever one's opinion of Sony as a company, I've always found the build quality of their equipment top-notch, even on the lower end stuff.

Yes. Connect the speakers and antennas, put the batteries in the remote, plug it into the outlet and you're ready to go.

Are there connections available for extra speakers, such as outdoor speakers, to add in addition to the speakers that come with it?
Nope, connections for just the 2 included speakers.

Does the remote switch from radio to cd?
Yes, the remote is necessarily quite full-functioned as the controls on the amp itself only cover basic functions. You must use the remote to set the sleep time, for example.

Alarm Clock?
I read that this system has a sleep timer. Does it also function as an alarm clock? If so, what sources can be used for the alarm (radio, CD, bluetooth)? Also, would you be able to stop the alarm with the remote?
