Lots of problems, basically didn't work

The initial set up was rapid but the update (which it did automatically,no choice) took 18 hours to finalize. (honestly). Then it would locate the device but I couldn't get it to do anything. I finally found the app to get the thing to locate the device on google chrome but it kept having errors. I was able to access netflix but it had no sound. I finally gave up after spending about 5 hours researching and trying various things. You may be lucky, apparently some people are but it isn't worth my time. Anything I got it to do was SLOW and bug prone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Can I use it on a smart tv

I got it to work partially but never got it to cast reliably and ultimately couldn't get any sound on any of my streaming after 4- 5 hours of work so took back. If you aren't a genius with these things take it back.

How do I link chrome with a smart tv

I just put into an HDMI slot. Never could get it to work reliably and took it back
