After about a week of comparing ranges that met the following requirements: price is good, has convection function (which I learned about while doing my research before buying), it's gas, stainless steel, 5 burners, looks great, and overall positive customer reviews. This one has all of these features.
Let me clear something up that I wasn't aware of and put a smile on my face when we used it the first time: based on previous reviews, I was under the impression that the "simmer" burner (top right) put out enough fire for simmering only. No, all burners output range as follows: low, 2,3,4,5,6,high. The difference between them is the burner size (see photos).
I was happy to find out that the simmer burner is perfect for the small pans that come in cookware sets and are great for reheating canned beans, and yes it will boil if you set it on high.
Fyi there are 2 quick boil burners. The top left burner is a standard size, same as the burners in my old stove. The bottom right is the big boy and it puts out about twice as much fire as a standard burner (see photos).
It also comes with a cast iron griddle (great for pancakes) or if you prefer to keep the regular grill (see photos).
The oven lights up automatically when you open the door (same as refrigerators works) and you do get 3 racks, which are sturdy and stay in place, as opposed to wiggling around and falling off, per reviews on another range I considered. The stainless steel panel is easy to keep clean; a quick wipe with a dry paper towel and stainless steel cleaner spray and you're done.
One thing to point out: the oven door window has an outer glass and inside glass, but for reasons unknown there are these "vents" or "openings" toward the top on the door (see photo) behind the handle that if you were to throw a coin (or worse, leak liquids into it) it would fall right in between the 2 glass panels; not sure how that can be cleaned out. But so far no debris has fallen in it. Overall I'm very happy with this stove and feel that it's definitely a good purchase.
Do keep an eye out for any damages from shipping/packaging. We were disappointed to find a few nicks and dents on the side and back panels as we were unpackaging it. The box had no damage at all, so it must have been when it was being packaged.
I would recommend this to a friend!

So the oven is electric and the stovetop is gas, is that correct?

Is the oven electric and the stovetop gas?
In reference to Frigidaire - Gallery 30" Self-Cleaning Freestanding Gas Convection Range - Silver/Black

No. The only electric part about this specific appliance is the digital display. The oven and stovetop are gas-burner operated.

About the knobs and the touchpad?

The pictures show stainless knobs, but the later pictures show black....which is it? Also the touchpad shows number 1-9, but the later pictures show no numbers. Which stove is this, as the pictures are conflicting?
In reference to: Frigidaire - Gallery 30" Self-Cleaning Freestanding Gas Convection Range - Silver/Black:

The knobs are all stainless steel. They are glossy, so it's possible the pictures may have had a dark background, reflecting off of the handles. The touchpad has no numbers. You must be looking at another model. See below picture of its actual touchpad.

Depth

My door is only 29" wide. Will this fit? I am assuming since the depth of the unit is 28.5" this should be fine? Does the depth include the handle? If so, can I detach?

Thanks!
Yes it will fit but sideways. Make sure you measure any obstacles like brackets or hinges that may shorten the actual width of the opening. Our door way measures 30" but had only exactly 28" of room to pass the stove through. We had no trouble pushing the appliance through sideways with about 1/2 inch of space left and without scratching the handles. We measured this appliance, depth is 27.5" handles included.
