I was skeptical to purchase a Chromecast since I didn't really know how it worked, or what it would do. I read about how it worked and once I saw it went on sale, I decided to purchase 2 of them and I did not regret it. Set up was simple and I can control both at the same time, watch different shows at the same time and it does not interfere with my phone which is what you control it with.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can this device be plugged directly into TV through a USB port or is an HDMI port necessary?

Can this device be plugged directly into a USB port on a TV or is a HDMI port necessary? The answer seems to be no but I can find no straight answer anywhere
HDMI is necessary, as it comes with only an HDMI plug
