I'm really happy with this purchase. It is a little noisy on the spin cycle with a pronounced hum, but maybe this is the difference between a $450 machine and one costing twice as much. The laundry comes and clean and almost dry, so it doesn't have to spend a lot of time in the dryer. I like the little song it plays at the end of the cycle, too. I would recommend it to a friend...a friend recommended it to me.

It does have a rather pronounced hum on the spin cycle or when the water pump is working, but I suppose that is the difference between a $450 machine and a $800 one. Other than that, it does a great job. No complaints at all. I do like the little song it plays when it's done.
I would recommend this to a friend!

on the samsung wa400 washer, what is the wash cycle suppose to sound like? the wash cycle sounds like it is washing/moving in spurts, not continuos.

Mine does that, too...I think it's normal for these HE appliances.

When calibrating a new machine is the machine supposed to cycle through an entire wash cycle before "end" comes on?

That's what mine did. Works great now, BTW.

Adding more cloths

Is it possible to add more cloths mid-cycle?

Also,

Is this a quite machine?
It's easy to add more clothes to the washer mid-cycle...just press "pause", wait for the machine's lid to unlock, add the clothing, shut the lid and press "start".
My machine is very quiet except when the water pump is working, and there is a rather loud hum during the spin cycle. I just shut the door to the laundry room and I don't hear it. Again, this might be the difference between a machine costing $450 and a more expensive one.
