Does this require the 2.5mm to 3.5mm cord from the PS4 controller to the headset, or is it fully wireless via bluetooth?

No, this is completely wireless to the PS4, as far as the headset is concerned. The base uses the PS4 USB for power, and an Optical cable(included)

Will there be a Turtle Beach Elite 800X specifically for the Xbox One?

If so, how before it is expected to be released?

I have not heard, BUT if they do, you should think about how you would use them overall. For me, the PS4 version is the best, as it will work with my Xbox One, surround sound is wireless, but you will need the chat adapter and cable to the controller in order to use chat on them. If they make an Xbox only version, they would probably cut out the Bluetooth radio for the Xbox specific radio, meaning you would have to use a cord for everything except the Xbox. I use them on a wide variety of devices (PS4, Vita, PS3, iPhone, Xbox One, PC) so for ME, the PS4 version best suits my needs.

does this work on the pc flawlessly?

Wondering as I had bought ear force tangos from turtle beach late last year and despite them saying it would work it was plagued with issues.

I can not speak for flawlessly, as I have not used them on my PC much, but the limited time that I did, I had no issues at all. If you have an optical out on your soundcard, these should work great.

Hows the mic quality?

For those of.you that have the headset.for ps4 or.pc.or whatever, how's the mic quality?

As far as my experience goes, GREAT. I can give you 2 examples. First, my Destiny group commented on my sound when I first got them, and said it was better than when I was using my Sony Golds, and my A50's. Second, my wife called while I was playing, and I answered the call on the headset, she heard my controller going in the background and asked if I was on the headset, when I told her yes, she said it was as clear as if I was just talking on my iphone. Does this headset work with music players on a cell phone

Will the headset be able to play music from a smart phone if connected via Bluetooth or wired connection?

Yes, these will work with music players and cell phones via Bluetooth. When answering calls, you need to hit the Bluetooth button on the headset to answer the call.
