First, it was almost impossible to set up. NOT PLUG IN PLAY. I had to research online how to set these up. And almost broke my Windows computer. I mean my PC would not Turn on anymore. I spent 3 hrs trying to get these to work.
OK they sound horrid. They don't turn on loud at all. Can't fill up a quarter of my living room. I have tried every possible setting on the equalizer for windows and etc to get the bass to be ok. Looked online at the best settings for an equalizer.
Moving the subwoofer, putting it on a book, etc. Nothing helps. The cords are short. So don't expect to be able to have much choice in where your speakers are placed. As people said there is no adjusting the bass or anything on the subwoofer.
I am highly annoyed I will have to go stand in that line now at Best Buy to return these and oh yah. The box is misleading. I thought these had 50 watts. It says 50 max or something. Whatever. Then everything online never says 50. But anyway, you can not even turn them up all the way or it is totally distorted. and all the way is not even loud.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What speakers can I use for my Asus PC
I have an Asus with windows 7. and these work. tho I think I saw that some may be made in a more current date. So check which you need. I got one with the green plug. some may have a USB... the newer ones? I am not sure.
They work for me. But I am not happy with them. I feel they sound bad on high bass songs. are distorted. But maybe it depends on what you like.

Just want to know which speakers with subwoofers have USB input. I want a good inexpensive 3 piece system for my laptop. It's a Toshiba Satelilite.
Mine are not. I think it says that it depends when they were made. So some may have a USB. I had that green lil plug for the old computers. I have a Windows 7. and It was highly annoying it was definitely NOT plug n play. I spent 3 hrs trying to get my computer to recognize these.

I want to buy these for my husband, but he works around a lot of power tools. Will he be able to hear with these speakers are they loud?
No. These don't turn up loud at all. And the loudest setting is highly distorted. I actually got new speakers because my old ones were not loud anymore =(
