You are looking at a 8 month old $1200 washing machine. The quasi "stainless steel" laminate they used on the inside above the drum is peeling. After spending several hours of filling out online requests, submitting photos, receipts and speaking with at least 6 people the bottom line is... Samsung does not cover "cosmetic damage", however I would classify this as defective due to the adhesive not withstanding normal use. This is my first and last Samsung appliance purchase
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

How do I get the clean cycle to begin. I pushed the button but nothing happened. It seems none of the buttons on the right side of the panel do anything. I bought an open box, so I have no book with instructions.

If you close the lid and push the "self clean" button to the right it will start automatically. I would suggest putting some type of cleaning powder in before starting, I use the one Tide sells but would imagine any would do.

Is the lid glass or plastic?

Mine is glass, appears to be tempered
