What's great about it: Lightweight, ease of use
What's not so great: Short cord, not easy to add water in tank
I am a self proclaimed floor expert. I have used steam cleaners to scrub brushes. Please do not expect a miracle with this Hoover. Good quality, but filling the tank takes a little work. Plan your movement as the cord is short. I have five year old tile/grout and even though I had a tank of very dirty water, the grout did not get very clean. I used water I boiled as this helps to clean and dry better. I did find that I needed to move in the direction of the grout line, not sure what the dry function really did, except shutting off the brush. I let the cleaning solution sit prior to drying and it cleaned well. The unit was easy to clean. I would have given a full rating if not for the cord. I will experiment on a good non foaming cleaner, maybe I will use a soft scrub product on the grout lines and see if that cleans over time. Nice job Hoover.

Is there a trade in option for old dyson vacuums?

Vacuums are like old cars.... They have no value. Some of the parts can be recycled. I have seen smaller retailers offer a trade in for old vacuums, but is usually a small reduction on the price. Also, Goodwill stopped taking vacuums in my area, as most people were dropping off broken ones, so your donation may not work. Ask your local goodwillI. I too spent a lot on my Dyson and I have made my own repairs. So far, a few dollars is all I spent on my $500.00 Dyson and it has been five years. I will not buy another Dyson and I do not feel the value is worth the cost. Good luck

Can this safely be used on LVT floors?

Just had luxury vinyl core tile installed and wondering if this can safely be used without voiding the floor warranty? thanks
Yes, I mentioned that the brushes are soft and LVT floors are able to handle a cleaning machine. Use a mild PH balanced, neutral cleaner, with a PH around 7. Most municipal water is 6-8 so your water should be ok. Go to a pool supply store and get a PH test kit. LVT floors can lose their luster if you do not use a neutral cleaner. A scrubber is not the problem, the cleaner is. Maybe a peroxide based cleaner is best. I would call the installer or manufacture and see if they can recommend a cleaner. Good luck.

Can this cleaner safely be used on travertine floors?

Yes. The brushes are soft and should clean well. Sweep or vacuum the floor first. Make sure your grout lines have been sealed. This unit is easy to use. The cleaning solution is very mild. Good luck.
