Great receiver, but you're not going to be able to use HDCP 2.2 protocol HDMI cables, aka the NEW 4K STANDARD. So if you're outputting 4k video, you need to look elsewhere.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Easy to install, fast connection
What's not so great: Having to pick a network every time I come out of sleep or upon startup
This little USB wifi connector has great connectivity and installs in less than five minutes. My only complaint about it is that it does not automatically connect back to the network upon awakening from sleep mode or when I start up my computer. I even tried turning off the feature in windows to "disable this USB device when sleeping" and no luck. Other reviews on Amazon yielded the same issue. Buyer be warned about that. If you don't mind it, this will be 5/5 stars for you.

Will 5.1 set up be okay with this 7.2 receiver?

I have 5.1 installed in my house. Will mainly use it for movies/tv. Will this 7.2 receiver be good for 5.1? Thx
Yes that's fine, use front and rear L/R and center channel, along with a sub. You could even use the other two channels for a speaker in an adjoining room.

can I use just two speakers with this reciever (good old two channel, left and right) and if so what speaker connections would I use? Thanks

I would use right front and left front.
