What's great about it: UI and simplicity
What's not so great: plugs directly into wall
This device is very well designed, especially when it comes to the initial setup and automatic connectivity. Large, easy to follow wizard setup does everything, including automatically inheriting your primary router's SSID and putting _XT on it. My only issue is that it plugs direcly into the wall, putting it low to the floor and next to some obsticles. I put a cheap extension cord on it and placed it high on a dresser and it works great. It would be cool if it came with a stand so it could be propped up better in this configuration but it was meant for a wall jack, so understandable.

1. does my belkin 300 connect to my computer or modem? 2. do I use an Ethernet or phone cable?(manual says yes and extender card include in
the box states "Make sure nothing is plugged into your Ethernet port. Please advise.
Remember, the belkin 300 extends your current router's signal, all it needs from you is to connect into the 300 and tell it what router is yours and for you to provide the password (the same password as your current router). Turn on your PC's wireless capability and unhook the wired connection - this makes sure you can connect into the 300 and set it up. Then connect your PC's WIFI to the Belkin 300 access point. Then open a browser and put http://belkin.setup/ in the address. Put in the user/psw from the instructions and follow the simple step-by-step instructions.

why does belkin.setup not load?
Step 3 of quick installation Guide says to connect your computer to the Belkin.setup. That does not open anything on the internet. What is up?
They want you to disconnect your computer from the internet so you can connect to the setup screen on your Belkin 300. With your ethernet unplugged and your wireless ON, connect your wifi to the belkin access point, open a browser, and go to http://belkin.setup/ URL and you're off to the races.
