What's great about it: Vertical motion, good instructions
What's not so great: Springs designed for heavier TVs, not newer, lighter flat panels
I just installed this mount to go with a new Vizio 55" television. The mounting instructions and included hardware were definitely better than average. I specifically bought this mount because I wanted something with vertical adjustment and everything else was much more expensive.
The new TV is 55" (within the size range of the mount) but pretty light, so the mount actually has trouble keeping the TV down. Once it's in position it stays, but it takes a lot of work to keep it in position. I've tried adjusting the tension per the manual, and while it makes some difference, it still isn't as easy to use as I thought. Overall, if you need a vertical mount, this is the most cost-effective one I've found, but the vertical motion does not work as well as I would have hoped.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Will the Mount allow for the TV to move away from the wall before it moves vertically?

No it will not. You can angle the TV up to 10 degrees, but it does not allow you to pull the TV away from the wall.
