What's great about it: Stand doesn't increase height of TV
What's not so great: Grainy picture at times with zoom on low def input
We love the fact that the stand does not increase the height of the set. As a result, every competitive TV that fit the same under-counter space had a significantly smaller screen. Great set for the money. This input is not an HD cable box, so we are stuck with the old 3:4 format for many channels, some of which don't have the best signal quality. If you zoom these to fill the screen the picture actually looks worse as the excellent screen resolution clearly shows the grainy low def signal on those stations--something to consider if your input signal has limited resolution, like an analog signal from some old antenna converters. Fortunately, more and more stations are providing the wider digital format which don't need the zoom. Most of the channels we watch look great with the wide format and a clear picture. Picture looks great with Netflix streaming videos and the picture would be fantastic if actually given an HD input.

Will this TV stream movies with Wi-Fi b/g or only N? Can you stream w/o HDMI

We have a router that is b/g and understand that this TV might not stream unless you have a N router. Is that correct?

This is a satellite TV and satellite box is not HD thus no HDMI ports. Will you still be able to stream movies from say Amazon Prime using non HDMI hook up?

Thanks
I am not using the HDMI connection, which has more to do with quality of signal than type of signal. If you can't use HDMI, use S-Video, then composite video. The coax "cable" video is a last resort. Sounds like you will have the same problem I do with some channels--a high def larger screen like this highlights a low def signal as a grainy picture, especially if you use the zoom feature.

My router is class N, which means I will get a faster loading speed (movie starts faster as it fills the buffer) and more picture bandwidth (better picture quality, or fewer movie delays to rebuffer the incoming signal). The B/G router will lose some picture quality, but so can nasty internet providers who see Netflix sucking down too much of their pipeline bandwidth already and limit the bandwidth for movie downloads. I can say that when we upgraded from class B/G to class N it was night and day and a lot cheaper than this TV. Worth every penny--especially if there are multiple users in the house doing other things at the same time.
