I was only getting 2.5 to 2.7mbs on my Intel Compute Chip. This extender increased my speed to between 8.97 and 9.85 as checked online via Speakeasy speed test. No more hesitation or dropping while streaming video. Distance was around 55 feet with two right angle walls from router to TV. Placed extender a little more than half way towards TV. Easy Setup.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have a modem/wireless router from my ISP (Spectrum, formerly Brighthouse). Will this unit work with my setup? Do I need to access the router settings at all in order to set this up?

According to the directions the extender had to be in the same room as the router. After the Extenders WPS LED starts blinking, you have two minutes to press the WPS button on the router. Once this was done everything after that was automatic. Just follow the directions. It works on any router. Don't forget to reassign your device to the new "Extended Network".
