What's great about it: Bluetooth, Airplay and WIFI
What's not so great: Needs one "all in one" app to control all features of this otherwise great device!!
Audiophile for over 40 years- Have had top of the line powerhouse receivers over the years (Kenwood Eleven GX, Pioneer VSX9900S and numerous others) Collected most equipment overseas from military retail outlets many not available in the US. Looked to update this year to connect my 65 inch high end Panasonic TV via HDMI connectivity. Also, still have a lot of old equipment to connect including phono. (which I had to use a preamp for but worked flawlessly) Anyway long story short this receiver provides the most bang for the buck. Using IOS devices the Airplay works flawlessly. Lots of additional features with Pandora and other options. The only real weakness I've noticed is the smartphone app support is weak. With all the technology Sony has in its reach, it should be able to have a better IOS/Android UI usable on a smartphone or tablet with all features combined into one super app.
This product has... Plenty of power for all my needs, Interfaces well with TV, Easy to use controls, Good multi-zone capability

What's great about it: New mount, sleek design, instant connection to satellites, great graphics
What's not so great: Nothing noted yet
Over the years I've had a Mio c520, TomTom xxl540s, Garmin 1490t and 3490t. Loved the Mio and in the day preferred the TomTom interface and customization. Bought a xxl 540 tm and still have it but was impressed with what I saw on the 3597lmthd. Picked it up over Labor Day weekend at BB and finally thought I now have the perfect device. I installed it straight out of the box with an instant satellite connection. Drove around doings errands for about two hours with compete accuracy. HD traffic was on point. Got home and connected for registration and updates that went problem free. Style, features, graphics, high res, app connectivity through smartphone for weather and traffic are great. Size is perfect and it's thin form factor actually fits in the pocket well. Magnetic mount is superb and sturdy. I haven't had any real issues with voice commands yet although once I had to state command twice but radio was on and window was open. LOVE the very realistic junction views. Much improved! Highly recommend, although a little costly, well with it.

Had Android that was OK but wanted to have device that worked smoothly with iPad, Touch 4G and my Macbook Pro. Apps synced smoothly as did music and photos - Concerned about smaller screen but resolution makes up the difference. The best feature of the 4S-- Battery life is much better than anything I've ever had. The courtesy and skill of the BB staff moving contacts and photos made it painless-- Thanks for a pleasurable experience!!
This product is... Easy to use keypad/keyboard, Great picture quality, Good video quality, Good call quality

Will this receiver work with a cassette deck?
Yes it will. I've connected mine via RCA cables and works flawlessly

How to update map?
I bought Garmin - nuvi 3597LMTHD. The map is automaticaly updated or I have to do something to update the map?
Device includes automatic updates but you must connect the device to a PC (Mac or Windows) using the included USB cable, launch Garmin Express and once you're registered follow the onscreen prompts to update your maps.
