What's great about it: build quality, easy to setup, performance
What's not so great: price
This thing definitely blows away every router I have ever owned! I have owned at least 10 routers since their wireless existence. My very first router was a Linksys router. I have since went through a couple of Apple, TrendNET, and Asus one (each being replaced because of my passion for technology; not because of defects).
What makes this router in particular the best is the unreal speed that has to offer... Aside from its use of 802.11ac, it definitely has some serious processing power. Everything it does, it does fast! Currently, I have Comcast Extreme 105 :)
I did not have to use the CD it came with. If you connect to the router using the wifi credentials provided on unit, then open your web browser, it will guide you through the initial configuration wizard. That took less that 3 minutes. The web interface this router uses is like of no other router, which might make it unusual for what you are used to... but this is still very easy to navigate through.
I plan on grabbing a 2nd identical unit and setting it up as a repeater, if I see the price go below $250.

Do you need to have internet to use this?

I currently do not have any internet access, and I am looking for something that is cheap, and wireless at the same time.
All routers work without internet. It will basically allow you to wirelessly transfer information across your network (files, printing, etc)... but you will not have internet.

Can we use 2 wireless laptops and Nexflix on our TV all at the same time with this router?

Yes, routers these days accept many concurrent connections.

Will Nettalk duo work with this?

I'd like to buy a Nettalk duo or a Magic Jack to replace my current phone system and monthly bill. I do not have internet at this location and don't want to get it just to have phone access.
Is this what, and all I need to get phone service using a Nettalk device, or will I need something in addition to this?
All of those services that claim to eliminate your current phone bills REQUIRE some type of internet connectivity. The internet acts as your connection to the world :)
