We bought this watch on 4/30/2015. Everything was fine until 6/23/2015, less than two months from purchase date. Please keep in mind we LOVE Samsung - we OWN 2 Galaxy phones, 2 Galaxy Tablets, Refrigerator, TVs, Washer & Dryer. We are 100% disappointed in this product!! In the beginning, it did record, although not accurately, steps walked. By that I mean that we could be mowing with a walk behind and it would NOT record steps. That was an easy enough fix by engaging the "Exercise - walking" feature on the watch, which would at least record the time but not the "actual" steps taken. After seven phone calls to Samsung Mobile US support, it seems our only option is to send the watch back to them to be "refurbished." If we wanted a "refurbished" product, we would have purchased one! We did manage to get hold of a Samsung rep in the store today, who says she "may" be able to fix it with a special tool that is only located in the store. YAY! We get to spend more time in the store. It took them over three hours to initially get this thing to work with a Samsung Galaxy S6 phone. Shouldn't it work out of the box with any phone from Samsung?! One surely would think so, but evidently not the case at all. Hindsight is 20/20 but we would have gone with the Garmin; especially knowing the issues this thing has. We are believers in all things Samsung, as previously mentioned, but now, we wouldn't rely on the Samsung name for anything. What should we do if the fridge breaks down? Pack it up and send it Plano, TX? Over a $150 dollar watch and the lack of Customer Service, I wouldn't recommend Samsung to anyone. How sad is that?!
The truly sad thing, we were going to give this same watch to my 82 year old father for Father's Day and I am so glad we didn't!!! Can you imagine the troubles he would have had with such issues?!
We shall send it back for "refurbishing," even though it is not our fault. We have been accused of dropping it, getting it wet, etc. As a consumer, we deserve better than being accused of all things Samsung related. It is their problem and not ours!
We shall update if things go better/worse for sure. We are moving on. We shall see if Samsung can make things right with our "refurbished" product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Is this watch compatible with TRACFONE
Is this watch compatible with TRACFONE - Samsung SM-S766C with 8GB Memory No-Contract Cell Phone ?
Can you get the Gear Fit manager app on that phone? If so, maybe. It seems to struggle connecting to most any device, including our Samsung S3 and S5. ;)

How does this hold up to outdoor activities such as Beach Volleyball?
The description says "Dust Resistant" but how would it handle playing beach volleyball or other activities where dust, dirt, and sand are involved?
Not too well, if I can wear it and not abuse it - i.e., gardening, walking. No abuse equals not working in my experience.

How does the sleep tracker work
It works, so long as your Gear Fit will connect to your tablet or phone. Mine quit after 2 months.
