how to extend wifi range

I manage RV park and offer free wifi. Adjacent cabin 250 feet from outside antenna gets reception on front porch in line of site to antenna. Inside reception not so good. Cabin has metal roof. What is best approach to boost signal in cabin: try to up xmit on wireless router, use booster near router, put extender in cabin... Don't want to spend a lot for just one tenant. Any advice?
If the transmitting power of the router you have isn't currently set at 100% (if you have that option) then do that. If that doesn't help, then you can use a wide range of extenders that would do the trick., just make sure that the extender is in the range of your current wifi network.

how is this connected to a PC?

My PC is a little out of range from the router. I need to move the router a little closer to get better reception. Will this device help? And do I connect it to the PC or the router or to something else?
It will help to answer that question.

You plug this into a power outlet near the edge of your current wifi range. Then following the installing guide you connect it to your wireless network then you computer to the extended range.

How can I tell its compatible

How can I tell if it is compatible with my router, says it works with most 802.11b/g/n routers but I don't see any numbers like that on mine.
You can find the model number of your router somewhere on it and look at the company's website that made your router. In the spec sheet for that router on the company website you will be able to find what wireless standard the router is.

outside home service

Whatis a strong network extender that would work with a verizon samsung intensity III cell phone?
reception is spotty outside my home and non in house. I want to use cell phone outside in yard.
If you are looking to boost the cell phone signal, this isn't the correct product. If you are looking to boost the connectivity of your existing wifi in your home then this would help, depending on where you place it in relation to where you will be using your cell phone and your router.

Cabled Use?

My cabled network has drops on both far ends of the house. Since this has an Ethernet jack, can I connect it to my switch on the opposite side of the house to extend my wireless network's range?
It might, but if you are going to connect it to a switch, why wouldn't you add another wireless router? I'm sure there is one that is around the same price that would give you wireless on that end of your home. If this isn't an option, instead of plugging it into your switch, install it somewhere where it would boost the wifi signal in your current wireless network range.

what is the range on this device

The range of wireless-N is 230ft (70m). This is in a perfect situation where just wifi is there, no obstructions. Will the extender boost another 230 ft? That is totally dependent on what obstacles and other electronic devices are in the way/being used.

where should i put the device next to my router or the opposite side of the house

You should find a place in your home away from the router but still has a decent signal (not all bars but something where there isn't an issue with connecting). The further away from the router you are the larger "boost" you'll have. i.e router has a 50 foot signal bubble, extender is put 40 feet away and boosts another 50 feet, your wifi now has a 90 foot signal bubble.

will this work through concrete walls

It depends on how many walls, thickness of the walls and the advertised boosting power.

will it work connecting to cisco router?

will this work if i use my cisco router to this netgear wi fi range extender?
In a nutshell yes, it may be a little difficult to set up, but yes. The only variable that I can see is if your CISCO router doesn't support the same wireless standard. If you are pretty tech savvy then that shouldn't be an issue.

What is the difference between this Netgear Universal Wi-Fi range extender and the Netgear AC750 Wi-Fi extender?

What is the difference between this Netgear Universal Wi-Fi range extender and the Netgear AC750 Wi-Fi extender?
There are quite a few. The AC750 uses a different wireless standard then the Universal one (802.11ac vs 802.11n). Also, the AC750 has dual band 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz, while the Universal only uses 2.4. For the average home user the AC750 is overkill as most computers coming from Dell, Toshiba and other big box suppliers aren't coming equipped with networking cards that support the extra speed and range of wireless 802.11ac. I'd go with the Universal if you are an average home user. If you are above average there are other dual band range extenders that may be cheaper or the same price that isn't using the 802.11ac standard. Likewise, if you are a power user, on the cutting edge of technology and know that your card is capable of 802.11ac and would like the new technology, then the 750 is great!

Any questions about wireless standards can be found by searching about it on Google or Wikipedia.
