What's great about it: GPS, Other Features & Range!
What's not so great: Price...but you get what you pay for, right?
I used to be a road warrior way back and I have recently returned to the scene. This Passport MAX is all that! I really like the GPS feature and all it's notifications as well as the range of the actual radar detector. I used to have a V1 radar detector and if you know that one, then yes, you are reading an honest review. I was torn and felt as though I was cheating on a company I used to be loyal to. I am telling you that you won't regret this purchase and even though it's a hefty price, weigh that against a high priced ticket with the points and you won't regret it. I don't do side comparisons or professional reviews but I have done a lot of research and still was skeptical, I bought this and the smart cord direct and I won't look back. The only thing that would prompt me to buy another radar detector would be the same model with Stealth Mode...maybe in the near future?

VG-2 interception and firmware updates

Can this model intercept VG-2 signals?
Are firmware updates via computer free for life?

Immune to the VG-1 Technology but not the newer Spectre Technology. Caution in Virginia and Washington D.C. as Radar Detectors are illegal there anyway. Defender Database is responsible for GPS updates as well as Firmware, the cost is $19.95 for (1) year or $39.95 for a (3) Year Subscription.
