The resolution on this is quite a bit higher than the previously purchased 3220. If you are going for cinema (movies/TV) then this is the projector you want. The native resolution on the 3220 is not high enough to provide a satisfying experience, but this 7235 will more than do the job. The 3000 lumens rating will project a nice picture even with the room lights on. In fact, the image cast is so bright that you almost need a table lamp to offset the brightness. The colors are stunning! Just watched the Chiefs/Chargers game and my wife was blown away by how bright and vibrant the colors were when compared to our old Optoma projector. The only drawback I can note is that the cooling fan is a little loud. Not so much that you can't ignore it, or overplay it with the surround sound, but really, by itself, it is a fairly loud fan.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Optoma 65HD died yesterday so I bought this to replace it. Vibrant colors. Stunning brightness even with room lights on. Fan is just a little louder than I would like. Our screen is 100" diagonal, so the pixels bother my wife just a bit, but I really believe that is because the picture is SO much brighter than with the Optoma that we just notice them whereas with the Optoma we didn't. This is my 3rd projector in 15 years, and by far my favorite!

What's great about it: The software is okay. Not great, but okay.
What's not so great: The applicator hardware broke on about the 10th use.
The center spindle on the applicator is spring loaded. On about the 10th or so use of my applicator, the spindle broke and no longer returns to its elevated position. The applicator is now essentially useless.
The software is fairly slick in what it does, but it is not particularly intuitive to use.

What's great about it: Attractive, easy to install.
What's not so great: It failed after six months. Overheated.
Appears well constructed. Attractive, wrapped cables. However, six months in (this morning) it overheated and failed. I won't be buying a Dynex Power Supply again.

How big is the viewing/projected area?

How many inches from corner to corner?
I don't understand the question. The projected area can be as large or as small as you want. It was actually too large for my current screen (100 inches) so I used the controls to reduce the projected image size. It is totally adjustable.
