What's great about it: positions the iPad
What's not so great: gets dusty inside
The Targus case is good looking and very good at keeping the iPad in the position you desire. I love that it swivels the iPad around so that it is vertical or horizontal without turning the whole case. The grooves for positioning the screen work very well so that I can watch my video podcasts and netflix with no danger of the screen flopping on me..
The inside of the case is a nice soft material - may be suede, at least it looks like it. But it does shed just a little bit, so that a very picky iPad user finds herself wiping the screen to rid it of the dust.
Other cases I have used were supposed to position the screen as you would like, but they were unsatisfactory in KEEPING the iPad standing.
I would recommend this to a friend!

How do I remove my iPad from the cover?
How do I remove my iPad from the Targus cover?
Use your thumb to release the corners. Press down at the two outside plastic corners of the pad cover. They will disengage from the iPad. Use your thumb again to press on the edge of plastic along the outside length of black plastic and the iPad should release from the cover.

Will it fit original ipad
I believe so. I have the iPad 2 and it fits fine.I don't think the original was a different size

a cover needs no charging. It is not a digital device.
