I purchased this hard drive for my wiiu and it is excellent. The only downside was that you had to buy a separate y cable to use for the wii u because the wii u is not powerful enough to handle usb 3.0. With that being said great product does what it's supposed to do.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Will it work with the WII U?

yes buy u have to buy a usb 3.0 y cable in order for it to work. the wi u is not powerful enough to handle usb 3.0 so the y cable provides 2 usb plugs for it to work.
