What's great about it: Everything! Ipad intergration; net radio; Airplay; mutli room; 7.2; it goes on and on
What's not so great: Nothing...zip...nada...nile....none
I purchased this receiver for my father-in-law in home that he customed built. Receiver is pushing out Golden Ear Tritton Two Tower speakers and SuperSat 60 speakers in the leaving room and pushing two Mirage Nanosat speakers for the patio/pool area for the 2nd zone. Receive is powering the speakers perfectly. Sound is deep and provide ampitude. The iPad and Amazon Fire app is awesome and easy to use. For the Fire, you have to reconnect with the receive a few times more than with the iPad. It makes the remote that comes with the receiver practically useless. I love the fact that you can calibrate the receive with the mic in mutliple sitting positions. I was able to connect my father in law's phono to the receive to play his LPs. LP sounds great and the sound is smoother than today's digital. For any audiophiles out there, you know what I mean. The receiver handled the LP beautifully. I could go on and on. Just look at the overview and it sums it up. AWESOME!!!!! Would I recommend this to a friend? Hmmmm...do bears poo poo in the woods?

What's great about it: Easy to set up, size, picture, APPLE ECOSYSTEM
What's not so great: Does not play 5.1 in Netflix
This little magical machine is the typical APPLE product that comes in a small package that provides a lot. I love that my digital copies are also available in the Apple TV unless it was restricted by the Studio Companies. Pictures are in 1080p and most audio is 5.1. Netflix needs to provide an update so it can do 5.1 with the Apple TV. Save a few hundred dollars and get a flat screen that is not a Smart TV.

What's great about it: Great picture, light, easy set up
What's not so great: nothing
Works great with the PS3 for games, bluray, and Netflix using the HDMI connection. I love the fact that it goes on standby with the PS3 is off. When you turn the PS3 on, it wakes up. Picture is awesome with 1080p. I saved a few bucks by not getting a TV since the sound is coming from a Sony receiver. My garage has a 5.1 setup with Sony Receiver and Mirage speakers. Can't be happier.

What's great about it: A FUN MOVIE TO WATCH. SONGS ARE GOOD
What's not so great: NOTHING
I was pleasantly surprise on how good the movie was. I am no way a singer and more like tone deaf, but PITCH PERFECT is a good fun and enjoyable movie to watch. It is like Napolean Dynamite (you have to watch it a couple of times to enjoy). The one liners are AWESOME. The Riff Off was fun to watch. The singing in the shower was funny and sounded PERFECT!

What's great about it: Easy setup; super fast; less maintenance
What's not so great: Magic mouse is a tad heavy. I am use to the plasic mouse. Planning to buy the Magic Trackpad. No 10-key keyboard
I have been a PC since 1998 and finally made the conversion to Mac. I would consider myself just above average in computer skills. All I can say is why I waited so long to go to Mac. Right out of the box, my iMac was set up on my network and was connected to the internet within 10 minutes. I have a wireless router but also doing powerline networking for the speed. The iMac had no issue with the hardwire connection and the iMac was able to connect to my wireless network within seconds after I entered my password. I wonder if there will be a use for hardwire and wireless connection at the same time, because the iMac was showing both connected and running. Needless to say, I turned off the wireless. I was able to move my iTunes files from my PC to the iMac through the use of my external harddrive and downloaded the file to my iMac with no problem.
The setting up email on the iMac was a breeze. Just give the iMac your user ID email account and password and hit enter. It does the rest. Within a minute, I was pulling emails from 3 of my emails account on the iMac.
Next, I was able to set up my old PC laptop in another room and downloaded Bonjour to have my PC communicate with the printer that is currently connected to the iMac. I am planning to purchase the Airport Express to connect to the printer as a standalone. Therefore, my PC and iMac will be able to print to that printer without being connected to a PC or iMac. I download Norton for MAC with no issues.
There's a few changes that I had to get familiar with the iMac OS. I had to increase the font size on the iMac since it's default is fairly small. Also, the window in Mac does not go full screen like the PC, which is a good thing. You don't have large area of wasted space on the left or right of the screen. What really surprise me is that I no longer have to defragment or do clean disc anymore with the iMac. The harddrive is 500 GB. After my iTunes music file (approx 7 GB), photo files (2000+ pictures), movie files, and Norton Security, my harddrive is at 477 GB. What a pleasant surprise that was! I am so use to MS Window eating up all of my HD space.
The speed of the iMac is fast. The quad core Intel i5 can handle a lot with no sense of drag.
The screen is clearr, sharp, and bright. I have brightness set at around 45%.
The iMac has 4GB (2 X 2GB) of RAM. There are 2 additional empty slots. I am going to get two 4GB of Ram to fill the 2 empty slot to bring a total of 12 GB of RAM for now. It is fairly easy to upgrade yourself. Just loosen 3 screws on the bottom of the screen just below the Apple icon and pull the two tabs to expose the 2 RAM and 2 additional empty slots. I think I will eventually max the RAM to 16GB in the future.
Overall, the iMac is AWESOME! I only wish that Apple makes a wireless 10-key keyboard. Going have to buy the wired Apple 10-key keyboard.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I'd like to connect my Bose 3-2-1 GS system. However, it is an older system and only has RCA jack connections. Does this tv accommodate?

Not sure, but you can get a converter from RCA to optical. Your set up could be Bose out with RCA that is connected to the RCA in of the converter then optical out from convert and optical in the TV.

Yes it does. You can set it up as a client if you have the Directv receiver connected to another TV, but there is an additional cost with Directv for another client.

Has anyone been using Bravia Sync with the 65XBR850D? My Bravia Sync feature is not working, I have a Sony Blu Ray model BDP/S3200, and a Sony Receiver model STRDH550, both connected via HDMI and can't get them work via Bravia Sync.

I have the Sony soundbar HTCT390 and I used the 4th HDMI with ARC from the TV to the Soundbar with no issues.

• High Definition Audio, including SA-CD, DVD-Audio, DTS-HD Master Audio™, and Dolby TrueHD™

Here are the renaming of HDMI cables which use to be like 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc.

Standard HDMI Cable - The Standard HDMI cable is designed to handle most home applications, and is tested to reliably transmit 1080i or 720p high definition (HD) video resolutions that are currently associated with most cable and satellite television, digital broadcast HD, and DVD players.
•Standard HDMI Cable with Ethernet - This cable type offers the same video performance as the Standard HDMI Cable, including 720p or 1080i video resolutions, plus an additional, dedicated data channel, known as the HDMI Ethernet Channel (HEC), for device networking. HEC functionality is only available if both the source and sink devices are equipped with HEC functionality.
•High Speed HDMI Cable - The High Speed HDMI cable is designed and tested to support advanced video resolutions such as 1080p and beyond. •High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet - This cable type offers the same performance (1080p and greater resolutions) as the High Speed HDMI Cable, plus an additional, dedicated data channel, known as the HDMI Ethernet Channel (HEC), for device networking. HEC functionality is only available if both the source and sink devices are equipped with HEC functionality. HEC connected devices that include this feature can send and receive data via 100 Mb/sec Ethernet, making them instantly ready for any IP-based application. The HDMI Ethernet Channel allows internet-enabled HDMI devices to share an internet connection via the HDMI link, with no need for a separate Ethernet cable. It also provides the connection platform that will allow HDMI-enabled components to share content between devices.
