What's great about it: Very good hardware, upgradeable
What's not so great: Maybe the 3.3 lb weight, some bleedthru on black screens
This laptop package is amazing, I have had many Ultrabooks, including 3 Apple Airs, 2 Toshiba Z series, and a Sony Z series. This hardware is every bit as good as any of them. the keyboard is very responsive, the display is stunning, i put it up there with the Apples. You do get a little screen edge bleed thru on a black screen, but most of them will do that. For the $999 price, the screen is excellent. Feels very solid in hand, not flimsy. A bit heavier than a Macbook 13" air, but also has (3) 3.0 USB ports which is an excellent bonus. This one has the 500GB normal drive, and I am pretty sure I can upgrade to an SSD, which i plan to do soon. Very happy with this purchase yesterday, and i will update this in a few weeks once I look for any niggles.
This product is... A touch pad that works great, easy to set up, lightning fast

What's great about it: No zippers, soft inside
What's not so great: Nothing
Not much to say, except that this is the sleeve to buy. Really nice snug fit. No zippers to scratch anything. Perfect.

What's great about it: Cordless, simple, works.
What's not so great: Batteries need replacing.
I used this a full month before writing this review. First off, don't believe some of the battery life stories. I had good Duracell's in there and it lasted about 5 weeks before it said to replace. That's the only negative I can think of. I was able to easily disable X and K bands which go off at intersections and shopping malls w electronic doors. The Ka and Laser detection works fine. Every time I got a Ka alert i would see a highway patrol within 20-30 seconds. Got a couple laser detections too, but it was properly cars collision systems rather than cops. So this detector does work just fine, only drawback is it may not have the distance of the more expensive detectors. Try and get it on sale for $329 and it is a nice little deal.

What's great about it: The cord.
What's not so great: The non-adjustable ear cups.
Fresh off a $10 set of headphones for 2 years at this desk, now comparing these, which obviously are way better. Also have Dr. Dre Pro's at home to compare to. Sound quality is good, when you turn the volume fairly loud. I do sense a tiny bit of that off balanced sound another reviewer talked about. I scoffed at it, but she had a point. The two ears did seem a bit too separated in some way. Bass is almost non existent, but this is more oriented like a good SQ set, not a beat set. Really nice guitars and acoustics, natural plucking on Dire Straits: Brothers in Arms reference song. Pink Floyd - The Post War Dream seemed a bit distant in these headphones. Now the design, fitment. The cord is great. BUT, the headband isnt good for me. Even with the rubber top band stretched fully, its a tight fit on my ears, pulling upwards a tiny bit. I didn't think my head was that big... so I prefer headphones with adjustable cups. Got them on sale for $54, which is a very nice deal. For $80, not so much. Not sure if I will return them and just bite the bullet for another set of Dr. Dres. Sure they dont have the same level of sound quality, but the overall craftsmanship is better.

What's great about it: What you get for the price.
What's not so great: NO complaints..
This subwoofer is blowing my mind. I have had the mainstream subs, like Pioneer, JBL and Klipsch. They don't TOUCH this unit. It is way more power than I can use, I keep the side volume control about half way most of the time. The low frequencies are so even and solid, good sound quality. Matching it to a 3 piece set of Monitor Audio Bronze edition speakers at 80W each. The subwoofer is equally matching the front stage's sound quality. I have been auditioning the sub in stereo mode with just the 2 front speakers, and I have never heard my CD's sound this good. Do yourself a favor, and at least check this sub out before you go buy a mainstream brand. For this price compared to the others pricing, there is simply no reason whatsoever to not get this one. I run the receiver crossover around 80Hz, but the subwoofer also has its own crossover and volume for fine tuning. I didnt know a sub could sound THIS good.

does the SOLO S3 detect 'laser' or infra-red rader?

yes, the Solo S3 detects laser. Mine detects it all the time. Although once it detects it, you are probably caught anyway..

What is the diffrense between a laptop and notebook

Nothing. Although when you see "netbook" that is the mini-laptop and has fewer features than a normal full size laptop.

Can the $1,199 ASUS lap top handle The Sims 3?

Yes, the Sims is not a very intensive game. This laptop can run thicker games than that.
