What's great about it: 2nd guest account
What's not so great: nothing yet
Bought this for daughter's apartment @ college. Went up a grade to get a password protected guest account as well as the secure main account. Set-up was relatively easy, but I am pretty good at setting up electronics. Instructions were reasonable & easy enough to follow. Product has worked perfectly so far. Currently using laptop (for school use & Netflix), cell phone & wireless printer daily. Several friends at the same time can use without a problem.
This product has... Fast connection, Secure connection, Easy to set up, Reliable connection
About me... Budget Conscious, Heavy media streamer

What's great about it: facetime w/ my daughter @ college
What's not so great: learning a new phone
Previously an android user & loved my phone. Then it died. Daughter needed new, reliable phone & was set on iPhone (like friends) so I decided to get the same in order to be able to facetime with her. Great feature! Using the same network, I have better text & voice inside the building where I work. Also better signal in a notorious black hole cell region in my area. Still learning the new features & apps available for iPhone vs. android, but so far not disappointed.

why it wont work with cable modem

i bought this router/modem cause it said on the box it was dsl and could be used with a cable modem. and now that i have cable i also got the cable internet and this unit will not work with the cable modem why
As explained to me when I subscribed to my DSL internet...DSL is a different type of transmission from a CABLE internet transmission. DSL comes through the phone line, not through the coaxial cable. Apparently this modem just doesn't speak the same language as a cable modem. ISP told me to make sure I purchased a router/modem that specified DSL, since my service would not work with a cable modem. Also, Best Buy sales associate saw that I was purchasing a DSL product & verified that I did not have a cable internet service, since they are not compatible.
