The installation of the Malwarebytes program was quick and painless. I went to the website provided in the installation card, downloaded the software, installed it, and made my first scan within 3 minutes with a 100 Mbps down speed. After installing the software, I was presented with a screen for a 14 day premium trial which gives you full access, as if you purchased the product. Feel free to try it out for yourself before you buy, no credit card required for premium access trial.
The key feature of this software is to clean an infected machine from malware, prevent malware infections, stop ransomware attacks, shield vulnerable software, as well as block bad websites.
The performance the key that was included in my subscription applies for up to 3 computers. The box specifically says that it is for Windows 10 (32 or 64-bit), 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, and XP. It uses up to 250 MBs on your computer, so it isn’t a large install file. Internet is required to download the software and to keep it updated daily, hourly, or even as specifically as any minutes of your choice. Scanning was quick and easy and the use of the software is self-explanatory within the tabs themselves. I will deduct one star from the registration process, though, as it required me to click on “My Account” and enter my personal information, but after doing so, it didn’t recognize that I had activated a key. I was presented with a message reading, “You don’t have any subscriptions right now, but if you purchase one it will appear right here.” However, the code subscription that came in the retail box was valid for 2 more PCs (3 total) if I input them manually to each computer.
The Malwarebytes meets my expectations. Even though it is labeled for PCs on the box and the word MAC was nowhere to be found, I went to my mac and browsed the Malwarebytes website for the Mac download. After finding it, I downloaded the file and installed it on my Mac. I was surprised that on the Mac, it offers a 30 day free trial. Regardless, I tried the code from the retail box to activate it and it worked on my Mac as well. I don’t know if this will change in the future, but for now, I was able to scan my Mac and it actually detected a malware and asked if I wanted it removed. I did so promptly.
The price for the software in terms of value is great if you plan on installing it on 3 computers, as each computer comes out to 20 dollars for the year of protection. What I did was take a picture of my code and saved it to my Google Drive in case I lose the paper in was printed on.
I recommend this product for people who have at least 3 computers and want to protect them against malware. It is better to be safe than sorry when it comes to PCs.

The setup of the Philips Dimmable LED Smart Table Lamp was extremely easy. This was my first venture into smart home lighting. It’s a lot simpler than I anticipated. This product is a lamp with a bulb that can connect to a Philips Hue Bridge. Without the Bridge, you won’t be able to use the lamp. However, the app (labeled Hue on the iPhone) immediately recognized the bulb after pressing the add light option within the app.
The key feature of this lamp is that it is voice controlled. For this to work, you must set up Siri (on iPhone) through the Hue App. The process is rather quick and painless and it works flawlessly. Another great feature is the ability to have the lamp turn off and on based on GPS location. If you forget to turn the light (or lights, if you have several of these bulbs on your Philips Hue Bridge) off at you home, upon leaving your house, they will turn off for you. Upon your arrival, they will turn on if you’ve set up that feature as well.
The performance of this lamp is a great experience. Using voice control is very responsive and accurate to what you want the light to do. By simply saying, “Hey Siri, turn the light on,” the light will turn on without being near it. The app is a great complement to the lamp. Through the app, you can access pictures that you’ve taken. After selecting a picture, you can set it as the ambience and the lamp will do an amazing job at replicating the lighting in that photo you took. I took a picture of blue Christmas lights around my neighborhood. The lamp didn’t struggle at all matching the blue ambience in the picture and it gave off soothing and relaxing tones.
The lamp exceeds my expectations. I didn’t know why smart lamps were necessary nor how customizable they can be. It comes with pre-selected images for various ambiences but you can set you own with any picture from your phone. You can also schedule the lamp to turn on and off at certain times simulating a sunrise, facilitating the wake-up process. You don’t know what you are missing out on until you try one.
I highly recommend this product for people who want to add nice decor that can be controlled with your phone or voice. The lamps base and cover colors blend well with most environments and its customization makes this product a unique and welcoming piece of tech into any smart home.

The setup of the JBL Link 10 was simple but could be somewhat confusing for some. On my iPhone, I already had the Google Home App for my existing Chromrcast devices, so I just opened the app and paired the speaker. The app found the speaker immediately and I was able to stream things within the Google Home App like Google Music or Pandora but not anything else that produced sound outside of the app. For that, you also need to pair your phone using bluetooth to the speaker. Essentially, you need to pair the speaker to your phone twice (once to your bluetooth devices and once to your WiFi network) to take full advantage of what it can do.
The key feature of this speaker is that it is a Google Assistant. Think of it as Siri (for iPhone), Cortana (for Microsoft), or Alexa (for Amazon). When the speaker is on, you can say, “Hey Google,” or, “Ok, Google,” and then you speak what you want. You can ask it questions and it will find the answers for you on the internet, you can have it call an Uber for you, you can have it tell you traffic information from your home address to your workplace, and you can even ask it to order food for you. I asked for the most recent news and it began to play live audio feed of an NPR program with the news.
The performance of this speaker is excellent. When watching content, the speaker’s power shines in its loudness. You are fully immersed if that is your only audio source for phones or tablets. Through its loudness, you can say, “Hey Google,” and it will stop the audio to listen for your command. It’s a great way to ask for the weather without looking for your phone when waking up or when you have a quick question that can be answered via a search. It even works as an oral calculator and will give you the answer to math questions you ask out loud. The only downside I found for this speaker was that, though you can use it as an alarm, the speaker has to be on for the alarm to go off. Since the battery only lasts 5 hours, if may not make it through the night on battery alone. You can leave it on and plugged in, but most people aren’t comfortable doing that to rechargeable speakers.
The speaker exceeds my expectations. I have a Philips Hue system and the Google Assistant on the speaker can be used to turn on and off my light fixture. I was amazed at the loudness of the speaker and the accuracy of the things I wanted Google to do. You can use it to wirelessly control Netflix or other apps available through the Chromecast devices.
The price for the JBL Link 10 in terms of value is just right. Other speakers that are equally powerful are priced similarly, but this one has the added benefit of having a Google Assistant.
I highly recommend this product for people who get most of their content through the Google Store and rely heavily on Google Suite Apps, like Google Calendar or Google Hangouts. If you enjoy talking to your tech to do things for you, this is a great speaker to buy. In the mornings, while getting ready, you can have it schedule appointments for you, read your itinerary for the day, and announced traffic or order you an Uber all with your voice.

The setup of the Epson ProSense 17 watch is not difficult but if could be a little bit friendlier. I find it hard to remember the last time I opened a tech product with a rechargeable battery that didn’t come pre-charged. You have to wait for the watch to charge out of the box, so don’t expect to open it and test it out right away. Upon opening it, you will find a clip that can easily be connected to the watch to charge. It is not a universal connection, so you must buy their proprietary cable if you ever lose it.
The key feature of this calorie/exercise tracker is that is includes its own built in gps and is very precise. It has many options and features that health enthusiasts will appreciate and can take advantage of, such as the watch vibrating after a mile has been completed. However, the display of the watch is not in color. It only offers a green background with black letters.
The performance of this watch good. A device like this one, though, can only be as good as the app that complements it. Upon setting it up, I did struggle to get it to sync up with the appropriate time on my cellphone. I had chosen the correct time zone and even the app showed the correct time, but the watch wasn’t syncing up and was 6 hours and a few minutes behind. I solved the problem by updating it via GPS straight from the watch, without using the app. When using it to work out, though, it was very accurate. I went running around the park wearing it on my non-dominant hand (left) while wearing a different brand on the right hand. Both measured the # of steps accurately and chimed at the mile marks at about the same time.
The Epson ProSense 17 marginally meets my expectations. Its major competitor offers detachable faceplates; this one doesn’t. You are committed to the strap and color, so take that into consideration when making your purchase. The watch does look unisex, but the strap is rather narrow so it might look awkward on bigger wrists. Other fitness trackers update wirelessly, so you can update your watch on the go. For this one, you have to update the watch while having it connected to the charging cable. Also, options are good, but too many options get convoluted quickly. This watch itself has 5 buttons and those are used to start/stop things or navigate through menus. The menus could be reworked to be more user friendly. The screen itself isn’t a touch screen, so the buttons are your only option to navigate it’s many options.
The price for the Epson ProSense 17 in terms of value is on par with other competitors.
I highly recommend this product for people who are on a strict budget for a fitness watch tracker or for people who don’t plan on engaging with an active community. The app of the watch allows you to link with other existing communities and you can choose from some of the more popular communities like Map My Ride, but that makes everyone more divided instead of having a dedicated community from within the app itself. It’s a great starter watch for those new to a fitness tracker.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The setup for the Blendtec Blender was a breeze. Upon opening the box, I was surprised to have only 3 components: the base housing (where the motor is), the jar, and the lid. The blade is permanently attached to the jar, preventing any leakage and facilitating the cleaning process. Everything was plug and play.
The key feature of this blender is that it is multifunctional. It has several instant-press modes such as a smoothie button. The jar itself is pre-measured by cups, or milliliters. An included recipe book shows you how to make more recipes and use the blender to its fullest potential. Prior to this review, I made 2 fruit smoothies, one with frozen fruit and the other with fresh fruit. On both occasions, I pressed the smoothie button and everything was blended into a thick and savory smoothie. With the fresh fruit, I included 1 banana, 8 strawberries, 1 cup of vanilla soy milk, and 2 cups of ice. This blender has no problems blending it all in about 1 minute and a half. Next, I made a salsa to eat with some corn chips and the blender did it’s job as expected. Finally, I tried some dry vegetables to test it out as a juicer. Everything does get blended well enough to drink it but I had to use a strainer to separate the small solid pieces from the liquefied pulp, though there weren’t that many.
The performance of this blender is above par. Having so many speed choices, instant button settings, and a motor as strong as the one housed in the base will make you feel like you have a blender akin to those in yogurt vendor stores.
The blender surpasses my expectations. It has replaced a previous smaller blender (of an acrobatic brand) that I used to us for making my morning smoothies. The fact that the jar has a wide opening with flat walls (as opposed to a small opening with round walls that have lined ridges on the inside) make the cleaning so much easier. I have large hands and inserting my hand in a smaller container isn’t easy. Also, other brands whose jars have lined ridges on the inside hurt when washing them by hand.
The price for the vacuum in terms of value is worth it if you are going to use it daily.
I highly recommend this product for health conscious people who plan on using a blender daily as part of their routine. I would also recommend this for people with large hands, as cleaning feels great. I would even go as far as recommending this blender for someone who wants to start a small smoothie business. It’s that powerful and it’s that good.

The installation of Adobe Elements was a breeze. The box includes two DVDs but my Mac and Windows PC don’t have disc drives. Instructions were included for downloading the software without needing the DVDs. On the back of the DVD sleeves, though, you will find the serial #s needed for the activation of the product.
The key feature of this software is that it bundles the Adobe Photoshop Elements (for editing pictures) and the Premiere Elements (for editing video). Both of the applications include tutorials that are extremely helpful for someone who hasn’t tried editing software before. You can choose from 4 different starting guides on both and they are eLive, Quick Guide, Guided, and Expert. eLive will give you ideas found on the internet on what you can do with your photos or video. QuickGuide allows you to edit your photos or video with preset settings, usually adjusting sliders until you find something that you like and save your project. Guided is for when you are ready for a slightly more in depth experience. It will teach you step by step what to look for when editing but allow you to make the changes you want to make. Expert mode removes all restrictions and allows you to use all tools with no guidance.
The performance of the software was fast. For the Photoshop Elements, at no point did my computer slow down. However, I exceed the minimum and recommended requirements for the software. I did use this product on the MAC only because it's what I use for editing the most. Coming from Apple’s editing software, I had to relearn a few keyboard shortcuts but hovering the mouse over what you want to do will tell you what they are. I didn’t have a problem saving any of my files and the guides were a great help for learning what the tools do. For the Premiere Elements, I edited some video footage I had recorded of video gameplay. I was able to add transitions and overlays in a cinch. Again, the guided tabs are a great help for getting exactly what I wanted while being helped along the way and not having to guess what each tool does. Overall, the programs worked without slowing down the computer or my workspace.
The software meets my expectations. In a matter of minutes, I was able to take a vacation picture that was blurry and dull in color and give it a little more vibrance. An amazing tool that you can use is called the Before and After image, allowing you to see the original file vs. your edited file before finalizing your work. It makes things easier to determine if you want to keep the changes or not.
The price PSE2018 in terms of value is fair. Other programs may cost twice as much but this will be helpful for the hobbyist who wants to add a new touch to his/her photos or videos without things getting too complicated.
I highly recommend this product for people who are venturing into the editing world for the first time and want to see if they can learn the tools. The guided tabs make a great photo/video editor expert out of anyone and your edits will look like something you will want to show off. New YouTubers or streamers will be able to use Photoshop Elements to make great thumbnails and Premier Elements for editing their video files with cool intros and transitions.

The setup for the headphones was simple enough. I had to just hold a square button and the bluetooth turned on. My phone recognized it in about 2 seconds and it is named something recognizable instead of model numbers that are hard to identify.
The key feature of these headphones is that they are meant for active users and are sweat resistant. Also, an subtle but very useful clip is attached to the middle of the cord that connects both ear buds. This clip is meant for you to clip is to your shirt in case you forget that you have them hanging around your neck and don’t feel them slip off. The clip prevents them from falling to the floor or getting lost. In my case, I had forgotten they were on my neck and went to bed with them. The earbuds stayed on my shirt all night thanks to the clip and didn’t get lost.
The performance of these headphones is superb. One of the biggest problems I encounter with bluetooth headsets is that they may occasionally have a delayed audio when listening to streamed shows or when using them while playing video games. These don’t have that delayed audio problem. They sound great with streamed shows, music, or mobile games. On the music side of things, I could hear deep bass sounds without any distortion. The same can be said when using them to answer a phone call. On my end, I can hear people clearly and on their end, they had no idea I was speaking with them via a pair of bluetooth headsets.
The headphones meet my expectations. The initial gel buds that it came with were a little too thick for my ears. However, additional gel buds were provided and I was able to switch over to some smaller ones. I did find it occasionally uncomfortable trying to put on the earphones, as they are in-ear headphones. I had to push so that it would stay in my ear without falling off but doing that caused a vacuum of air to push into my ear as well and caused slight discomfort. Other similar pair of headphones that I own do not have that discomfort when putting them on. For that reason, I deduct one star.
The price of the headphones in terms of value is competitive compared to other brands in the market.
I highly recommend this product for people who have an active lifestyle and enjoy listening to their audio collection while on the run...literally.

The setup of the Hoover React vacuum was quick and painless. All the connectors are clearly labeled making it easy to skip the instruction booklet if you deem it so.
The key feature of this vacuum is that it has a sensor that determines the type of floor you are using it on. It will determine the power of the suction needed based on whether it is being used on a hard surface or a soft one, like carpet. Another good feature is the quick-charging battery. It comes pre-charged, but takes only 3 hours to charge for a long period of use. As per the booklet, the battery shouldn’t experience draining with multiple charges. A third useful feature is the ability to clean quick messes by just holding the trigger down instead of double-clicking, so as to only use it for about 10 seconds or less.
The performance of this vacuum is good. The suction is powerful on both, carpet and on hard floor surface. It was able to pick up pet hair, human hair, debris, and dead insects that were under the bed. It has front lights that help when vacuuming in dark areas like under a couch to see if you missed a spot. Compared to a different stick vacuum, this one gave me more resistance when moving the vacuum forward. The vacuuming motion wasn’t a smooth experience. Instead, it felt as if i was constantly pushing the vacuum forward and pulling it with more force than expected as opposed to letting it glide back and forth. The wheels didn’t move forward automatically. As a result, I am deducting 1 star.
The vacuum meets my expectations but does disappoint in the fact that I couldn’t get it to glide and instead was met with resistance. I did enjoy the ease of dumping the debris with one click of a button. The filter needs to be rinsed after every 4-6 uses, but the dirt container is larger than normal for a stick vacuum.
The price for the vacuum in terms of value is acceptable. It has many tools that can greatly expand its use. It can also convert into a hand vacuum, making it ideal to have around when washing a car.
I highly recommend this product for people who want to try a stick vacuum that is powerful but not overly complicated. With automatic sensors and only 1 button to worry about, this is a great entry into the stick vacuum mode. It is also perfect for small homes or college dorms where storage space is limited.

The Philips Norelco Multigroom 5000 Trimmer comes well priced for an entry level electric trimmer and removes many of the intricacies of a pricier model.
To begin with, the trimmer doesn’t come pre-charged, but on the box it said that a 5 minute charge would suffice for one trim. I plugged it in and set a timer for 5 minutes to test the truth of this. Sure enough, the power was sufficient enough for me to have it on for a full 10 minutes.
This trimmer doesn’t have the option to adjust the height of the plastic length add on. Instead, it comes with various heads with pre-selected sizes. Though this is good for someone who want to ease into this type of trimming, it seems a bit overwhelming at first. However, if you start testing them from the largest available size to the smallest, you can gauge how much of length from your beard you will shave off.
Since I only wanted to trim my beard slightly, I chose the 12mm option and began. Out of the box, I needed to change blades for the wider add ons. It’s not difficult to change blades, you just have to push it upwards with your thumb with a little force and it will pop out. I installed the new blade and the 12mm add on. The tirm turned out nicer than I expected. I then removed the add-on and tested the blades without add ons to see how close of a shave I could get around my beard and cheek areas. It won’t give you a clean shave, but it will trim down enough to go to work with a clean look.
With the same charge, I switched out the blade and installed the nose trimmer. The nose trimmer worked as expected and I wasn’t disappointed.
I give this product 3 out of 5 stars, as changing the blades will be necessary if you have multiple grooming needs and it can become cumbersome. The pouch it comes with to store everything is very plain and just has everything piled up into one place. It’s not a bad trimmer, but a great entry level one. This is a perfect trimmer to have in a travel suitcase on the ready or for college students with limited space for storage.

The setup for the Sony 1000X Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones can be a tiny bit confusing. However, a nice picture diagram is included to help facilitate the process. After you have taken out the pair of headphones, you need to insert them into the case for them to power on. The case works like a portable battery for the headphones and a carrying case at the same time. They will power on and will be discoverable in your mobile device. I tested these on an iPhone and the phone recognized that the Sony Headphones App needed to be downloaded for proper installation. I proceeded to do so after it prompted me to.
The key feature of these headphones is that they are truly wireless. There is no connecting wires between the two ear pods. This makes them ideal for working out without having to worry about accidentally pulling on a wire. I wore them while jogging, doing household chores, and walking about without them falling off once. The noise canceling feature work fine, though not the best I’ve used. I was able to use things like a blender and a vacuum cleaner without disturbing my music. I could, however, hear my voice. You have the option to optimize the noise canceling features in the app that you download.
The performance of these headphones are great. They are stereo headphones, so you won’t hear the deeper bases produced by headphones that fully cover the ear for a similar price, but the convenience of not having something heavy on your ears is worth it. Bass and deep sounds still sound great. This is especially true when you turn on the noise canceling feature that eliminate most ambient sound around you, helping you focus and immerse deeper in your entertainment of choice.
The headphones meets my expectations. I did encounter a common problem amongst bluetooth headphones and mobile gaming. There seems to be a delay in audio when playing video games on your mobile device. I tested this with Clash Royale and with Geometry Dash, the latter which is crucial for there to be no delay in audio to be successful. For that reason, I deduct one star. This problem doesn’t exist when listening to music or watching your favorite streaming show from popular streaming services. If mobile gaming isn’t your scene, then these are a great pair of headphones.
The price for Sony 1000X headphones in terms of value may look steep at first, but you must use them to believe how good they sound and how convenient their size and wire-free status can be. Keep in mind that included in the package is a portable rechargable battery for the headphones that doubles up as a carrying case. There are also plenty of options for various sizes of ear holes.
I highly recommend this product for people who are tired of having wires in the face or arms while exercising or doing household chores. If you like listening to music or watching TV shows while on a bed, there won’t be much of a hindrance or discomfort, thanks to the unique design and smallness of it. These headphones pack a lot of power in a tiny package.

Would these work with a Windows laptop with Bluetooth?
I don't own a Windows laptop, but I did successfully connect them to my MAC via bluetooth. Both, the MAC and my ELGATO HD60 recognized the microphone input and allows me to wirelessly chat.

Can I use the PX4 as a wireless headset for my iPad?
Though I haven't tried using it specifically to game on my iPad, the front of the box says it's wireless for mobile devices. I did successfully connect them to my MAC and they work like a charm.
