This is the way its designed. The shorter one will go into one ear and you trace the cable on the back of your neck to reach the other ear. This way if either fall, they don't fall to the ground.

Extra amplifier require or not for subwoofer

All radios have an average of 50W for 4 speakers, no including sub. To get a powerful sub added to any car vendor, an aftermarket amp is needed to drive sub separately

I just recently purchased this and it doesn’t seem to have hookups for subwoofers/amp to hook up. Is this head unit compatible or do I need a different unit ?

This is compatible. On the back, you have RCA preouts to an amp.

My 2006 GMC Envoy has a separate factory DVD player. Will this unit work with it?

Is the Apple CarPlay a wireless feature or do you have to plug in for that part?

This model requires you to plug in to receive CarPlay. JVC does make models that work wireless as well.

It takes a good 20 full seconds to turn it on. Make sure its charged and press and hold the turn on button for a good 20 seconds. If that doesn't work please return it.

I had an iPhone 8 Plus, and it paired and connected jut fine. I upgraded my phone to an iPhone Xr, and now I am unable to pair the phone and receiver together. Is this receiver compatible with the iPhone Xr?

It is definitely work with this phone. I recommend clearing list from head-unit and trying again.

installed this successfully in a 2008 base corvette with appropriate interface control. works great however I can't get the chimes volume to go down. The onstar voice is also extremely loud. There is no control for chime volume on the interface control

You would need to visit a pro installer to see if lowering volume if possible.
