Foscam - Wireless IP Camera - Black
This Foscam FI8918WB wireless IP camera features infrared motion detection and IR night vision up to 26.2', so you can easily view activity on your property. Low-noise audio capability enables clear 2-way communication between you and the monitored area.
Can it be used in hotel setting , using there wifi and your smart phone to view your room from other areas of hotel
Hi,
Unfortunately this type of IP camera would need you to have access to the router. You would need access to an Ethernet port that leads to the router. Then you would be able to log in and set up wireless.
For the use you mention, I think you should consider a P2P camera where you can use the QR code to bypass this and set up wireless automatically. The hotel management might block P2P so your best bet is a spy camera.
With a spy camera you will not have wireless access. The Foscam FHC994 has an 8 hour battery life and can be longer when using motion detection to trigger recording. It is best to always have it plugged in and hide the camera and wire as best as you can.

what is length of the supplied power cord?

Instead of a router, will this camera connect to a hotspot?
We only have a hotspot for our internet rather than a router. Will this camera connect via hotspot (that does not have an ethernet cord plugin)?
Yes, as long as the connection does not require Bluetooth to connect as well.
