Can this ext HD be password protected?

Hello Mattmatt,

We don't have any software to protect the LaCie Rugged 2TB USB Type-C hard drive with a password. Our Toolkit Seagate Secure can be used on following LaCie drives: LaCie Rugged RAID Shuttle, LaCie Rugged Secure and LaCie Rugged SSD, as well as on the Seagate Backup Plus Ultra Touch.

If the drive is formatted for both Mac and Windows ( exFAT) you may use the data copied to the drive on both systems.

Will this work with a Xbox one X?

The Seagate Portable External hard drive should work on XBox One X since it meets the requirements given by XBox:
- External drives must be at least 256GB and support USB 3.0

However, this hard drives is only checked for compatibility with Windows and Mac computers as stated in the data sheet:

Can it be plugged to the USB-port of an old Thinkpad X200 ? I mean if the power provided by the computer through its port is sufficient to make the HDD work properly ?

The Seagate Expansion Portable drives are USB powered 500mA, it means that they don't use any other source to power on that the USB cable which connects the drive to the computer. The USB 3.0 cable is backward compatible with USB 2.0 port.
If your Thinkpad X200 has USB 2.0 port, they should power this drive, but we suggest to contact Lenovo for more accurate compatibility information.

Entry-level direct-attached storage devices (DAS). Its physical measures can be found on the drives data sheet:
