How much weight could the tempered glass platforms hold? I'm intended on putting a ~40lb center speaker in the middle platform.

Hello Z, the top glass can hold a maximum load of 135 lbs.; the middle and bottom shelves hold a maximum load of 50 lbs., each.

What's the max HEIGHT of stereo components that will fit on those lower two shelves?

Hi Brandon, the height between the shelves is 8.25 inches between top & middle shelves and 8.5 inches between the middle & bottom shelves.
