I am looking at this Whalen Furniture AVCEC65-TC and comparing it to the similar $200 version that simple has a TV mount attached. Is this sturdy? I just want to be sure this is a solid stand for my SONY 65” I just bought. I don’t really care for a mount.

will this stand hold a 65 inch Visio TV and will it need to be anchored to the wall?

Hello Donnalee, this TV Console holds most flat-panel TVs up to 65" and 135 lbs.; it is sold with one set of Tipping Restraint Hardware Kit. You must install the Tipping Restraint Hardware between the wall and the TV console to prevent any accidents or damages. When properly installed, this restraint can provide protection against the unexpected tipping of the unit due to small tremors, bumps or climbing. The restraint is only a deterrent and is not a substitute for proper adult supervision.

Can we adjust the hight and angle of the Screen mount? If not, is there a similar tv console/stand that can?

Yes you can adjust the height and angle of the screen mount. The Spine can provide two height options for your TV set. Refer to your TV size and adjust the Swiveling Bracket at the desired height and the monitor brackets to the desired angle for optimum viewing.

Hi KB, the stand only is 22 inches high; the overall height will actually depend on the location of the holes on the back of your TV for installation of the monitor brackets. The overall height of the console, to the tip of the monitor brackets with the swivel on the highest position, is 55.5 inches.

Hi Niki, this TV console supports most flat-panel TVs up to 47" and weighing up to 135 lbs. The mounting frame is approximately 27 inches wide, as long as the mounting holes on your TV are not farther apart than the width of the frame, you should be able to mount a 39" Flat panel TV.
