Are the grates suppose to only swing up to a vertical resting place? That's what the manual says, but mine swing all the way over until they lay flat horizontal away from the stove. It makes a grinding metal when it swings open that far.

Can quilts and blankets be washed in the washer since it has a smaller drum size?
