Jkl, the refrigerator will cool between 34-40 degrees as lower can cause food to freezer.

Tim, monochromatic means the sides are grey to match the stainless steel. A stainless steel unit would have black sides.

does this fridge temp. stay cold ie 32 degrees?
Jkl, the refrigerator should be between 34-40 degrees inside the refrigerator to avoid food freezing. If the unit is in a garage, the temperature should not go below 55' as the refrigerator could stop cooling at those temperatures and lower.

when to change water filter
My refrigerator has an inside water filter, but I don't know when it should be changed. How should I know? The filter is at the top right corner of the upper section.
Hi, the water filters will need to be changed when water pressure is lower. The difference will be noticed lower ice cube production and dispenser water will run slower. The filters will need to be changed more or less frequently depending on usage.

Width with doors open
I noticed on this item that when the doors are open that it adds almost an inch to each side of the refrigerator. Is this part of the width dimension? I ask because my opening is exactly 35.7" and one side of the refrigerator would be tightly against the wall. I'm thinking it probably wouldn't open. Can anyone provide me a measurement across the top of the doors with both the doors opened at a 90 degree angle. Thank you!
Mike, the doors will need to have space to open, as they will open further to allow for the door space. A counter depth refrigerator would be better in a space next to a wall.

Can this unit be permenently installed into the plumbing without a cabinet?
In our new house, the kitchen sink is one of those super old cast iron models that is built into the wall with exposed plumbing underneath and no cabinets under or to the side of the sink. It takes up the whole wall it is on with no space to either side that is flush to the wall to build a cabinet or slide in a dishwasher. We would, as a result, like to buy this portable unit in white to keep in front of the sink , but we want to permanently tie the portable into the plumbing, so we're not constantly having to connect and disconnect the unit.
1.) Is this even possible with this unit?
2.) Would we need just the "Smart Choice - Dishwasher Water Line and Power Cord Kit" or would we also have to buy the "Portable to built in conversion kit part number is W10322576"?
3.) Would we need any other tools or parts to make this happen?
4.) Would it then be safe to not install the wheels on this unit, since it will not be moving at all?

MJ, thank you for your question. The dishwasher can be set in permanently in most settings provided that the plumbing itself can support the water pressured needed, and the water temperature needed. We cannot answer if it can be connected as that would be determined by your plumbing, but the links will help you find the installation guide for the unit that provides the minimum electrical and water requirements for this dishwasher.
