Hi Rozanne, it may be that the lid sensor isn't detecting the lid is closed. We suggest making sure there is no obstruction or debris in the closing contact (where the lid clip is) and if it's clear, we also suggest rebooting the unit by either unplugging it or shutting it down at the breaker for 90 seconds to see if that might reboot the sensor.
