I need to replace Model WMH31017FW. Will Model WMH31017HW fit in the same bracket? I imagine Whirlpool would like me to use new brackets, but I don't want to go to the effort if there is no significant difference.

Hello JohnW. The mounting plate for models WMH31017FW and WMH31017HW are both part number W11025649. We would recommend using the new mounting plate when you install your new Microwave. We hope this helps!

Hi Viv, yes the sound can be muted. Press STEAM CLEAN button and hold for 5 seconds to put into
mute, hold the button again for 5 seconds to turn on the sound. We hope this helps!
