The majority of the venting on the Breville® BOV650 Smart Oven® Compact is on the sides so while the back does get warm, so long as the cord is not being pressed against the back of the oven, it will not require extra protection.

If I wanted to bake something for a specific amount of time, is there a timer to do this? If so, is it longer than 30 minutes?
Yes, you can set the time for however long is needed on the Breville® BOV450 Smart Oven® Mini for up to a maximum of 2 hours.
