This product takes speakers that are not Bluetooth enabled and allows you to make them capable of accepting a Bluetooth signal. You plug this adaptor into your speaker or stereo receiver's input. The adaptor can then receive audio from any Bluetooth-enabled source wirelessly. It passes the audio on to the speakers or stereo. So if you want to use a TV as the audio source, then yes, the TV must be Bluetooth-enabled. The speakers and/or stereo receiver do not have to be Bluetooth enabled.
