It is possible. You may want to check a few things to confirm it is actually dead. When plugged in, are you able to get the caps lock light to light up? This would indicate that the keyboard isn't quite dead yet, but something may be wrong with the connection. If the light is on, make sure you have the keyboard plugged in before starting up the computer. Sometimes this can cause the peripheral not to work properly. If the light doesn't turn on or if it does and still won't type when plugged in from start up, it may be time to consider a new keyboard.
