I don't think so. The nest is hardwired plus battery operated and has it's own Wifi connection so it doesn't require a Wemo switch. The nest app will turn on and off the device.
It does work in conjunction with the Wemo switches if you wanted to create "recipes" through IFTTT (IF This Then That). For example, i used to set the nest to turn on the AC when I would ride my bike and cross a 1 mile radius around my home so that by the time i would get back home, the house would be nice and cool. I also had it turn on the foyer light and the ceiling fan in the bedroom all at the same time it would set the nest. IFTTT powered all of that.
