I bought this because it is already formatted to use with MacBook Pro...apple products...I only had my computer for 2 years when it crapped out ( very disappointed as it cost over $500 to fix) was told gosh your warranty has expired...right so I'm already upset...when I wanted to get my data transferred I went directly to an external HD made for Mac products...decent price and data recovered...still crabby about the ware to issue but very happy about this product which was already formatted and ready to use. Thanks...

Can one drive be used to back up multiple computers each using Time Machine?

We have two laptops and a desktop computer in one house on one WiFi system, will one external drive work for all three computers as a system backup or does each computer need their own hard drive?
If you own a Mac or have Mac products you should use a Mac formatted device...if you know how to do this you can buy any external HD ... I was told that an external HD I already had stuff on will not work so that is why I bought the new one already Mac formatted...hope this helps
