I am happy with the Samsung BD-H5900/ZA Smart Blu-ray player. Be careful Samsung uses the same model numbers but changes a character. I actually wanted the features of the BD-F5900/ZA which has a web browser. Unfortunately the BD-H5900/ZA does not. Other than that I am very happy with my new Smart Blu-Ray player.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Great Value for the price.
What's not so great: No complaints
I own a 55 inch Samsung and purchased this TV to replace 32 inch TV in the bedroom. The picture quality is excellent and even surpasses the 55 inch TV that I payed over eight times the cost for about 4 and a half years ago. I connect to the internet via my ROKU 2 HD streaming player. I think ROKU is a better way to go than smart TVs for all of the channels they offer.
This product has... Easy to set up, Great value and features for the price, Easy to use remote control

What's not so great: Nothing.
ROKU players offer a great chanel line up and now have YouTube. They continue to add new channels to the line up. The HD quality picture is great on my new Samsung 40 inch TV with 3D and 2D up-scaling..

What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: One of the outlets does not work.
I purchased the product after a lighting strike. Lost several devices even thought they were connected to battery backup surge protectors. After buying a new TV and this surge protector when the cable technician showed up he determined that one of the outlets was bad when he replaced the cable box.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Direct tv

Is this tv compatible with direct tv and doesn't need a box?
The answer is No. In fact I am not aware of an TV that integrates support for DirecTV into the TV. As far as I am aware DirecTV requires a DirecTV satellite box.
