I've run the gamut with detectors... For a portable unit, this is simply the best. The built-in signal camera detector has been a nice feature that I wish I'd had years ago.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can this be installed by wire at Best Buy to avoid cords over the dash?

Yes.... I had my mercedes dealer do it, but anyone with know-how can easily do. I only wish that the unit came with the necessary cord in the box.
